I was worried that both products would be too matte for my dry skin, but I really think the Fenty Concealer and Setting Powder have worked out amazingly well for me. I hope you guys enjoyed my review of the new complexion products from Fenty Beauty.

Sorry about the slight difference in lighting Comparison with no makeup (Fenty products lightly applied on Left): Top Photo – Fenty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer in 150, Bottom Photo – Fenty Pro Filt’r Concealer set with Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder in Butter It helps prolong the wear of my makeup, sets everything down, prevents creasing and makes a difference to my overall complexion. There isn’t that much to say about a powder, but this ticks all the boxes in terms of performance. It visibly blurs my imperfections (especially my pores and fine lines) and adds a touch of sheer coverage as well. With some powders, I prefer them to set either my under eyes or my face, but this powder looks beautiful applied everywhere. It feels really lightweight whilst still keeping my makeup in place for a prolonged amount of time. It is silky and finely milled to the touch which means it doesn’t look dry or cakey on my dry skin. In terms of performance and wear, the Setting Powder is one of the best setting powders I’ve used. The powder also smells really nice too, which is a nice touch! You get a protector that can be slotted in to block any potential spillages from the sifter which makes me comfortable travelling with this if I wanted to. It looks really cool displayed with the rest of my makeup. It has a cool, geometric design that is reminiscent of the other products’ packaging in the Fenty line. I really love the packaging of the loose powder. Butter is the second lightest shade in the range and is described as a Light. I went for the shade Butter because I didn’t think I’d enjoy using their lightest shade Lavender all over my face. I have been thinking about purchasing a new loose powder since I am nearly out of my current one that I don’t really like so this was timed well. I love the shade for me, it manages to slightly brighten and conceal my eye bags whilst still looking great on the rest of my face. It covers my under eyes well with a bit of layering and one layer is enough to cover my facial blemishes. I love the coverage and the wear time I get with it. Overall, I really like this concealer after playing around with it a bit more. This does crease on me, especially if I don’t set it, but what concealer doesn’t (unless you have perfect under eyes)?! Once I set this concealer with the powder, I found myself creasing signicantly less. After experimenting a bit with this concealer I found I am able to build it up under my eyes to a high medium coverage and with the eye cream on underneath, it wore a lot better. If my skin-prep is done closer to makeup application it looks better). I had my eye cream on for a few hours beforehand. I learnt the importance of applying an eye cream before going in with this concealer and had a much nicer experience (in the photos below my eye bags are especially bad since I haven’t slept well recently and only went in with a light layer of product since I’m not wearing any other makeup. I was also impressed with how long this stuck around, it lasts about 8-9 hours on me without touch-ups or re-powdering. I did find it a tad drying, but it is a matte formula so I wasn’t surprised. It covered my dark circles really well, as well as any blemishes/redness I had. Without building the concealer I got a medium coverage.
The first time I applied this concealer, I went in with minimal product because I didn’t really know what to expect. The consistency is very creamy and lightweight. You get a decent amount of product distributed with the applicator, which is nice because you don’t have to keep going back to apply more.
It makes a nice change to the trend of huge doe foots that we are seeing due to the popularity of Tarte Shape Tape. I feel like you get a lot of control with how much you apply. 150 is perfect for this because it brightens my under eyes but also matches my complexion for spot/redness concealing too. I have started to realise that I am not a huge fan of a super bright under eye on me and prefer a ever-so slight level of brightness. I am so glad I got matched in person because there was a lot of choice with undertone and the shades on the fair end of the spectrum were so light. I was matched to the shade 150 in the Pro Filt’r Concealer which is Light with Neutral Undertones. I just so happened to be in London recently and decided to get matched to the concealer in person since 50 shades is a lot to choose from and I wanted to get the right undertone. I have only tried their original Gloss Bomb but their concealer and powder really got my attention. As soon as my No-Buy January was over, I knew one the first things I’d purchase would be the new Fenty Beauty products.
